Utility Farm Awards Two Grants to Improve Wild Animal Welfare

Utility Farm would like to congratulate two organizations that have been chosen to receive the 2018 The Compassionate Cat Grant award:

Animal Care Sanctuary in East Smithfield, Pennsylvania and

Humane Animal Rescue in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Each organization will be awarded with an unrestricted grant that will assist them in distributing educational materials to their new cat adopters. Over the next year, the data collected from this grant program will aid in our research on cat predation and the effect of adoption-level advocacy on human behavior change.

By 2020, we hope to have a stronger understanding of whether or not adoption-level advocacy is as cost-effective as our initial trials suggest at reducing the suffering of wild birds, mammals, and reptiles. If our current model is accurate, we expect these grants to impact between 6,000 and 55,000 wild animals.

Our work is only possible through your support. Donate today to help us better understand how to help wild animals.
