Announcing The Compassionate Cat Grant
Utility Farm would like to announce the inaugural grant round for The Compassionate Cat Grant!
The Compassionate Cat Grant will provide eligible non profit cat sheltering organizations with unrestricted funding. In exchange for the award, Utility Farm will receive data surrounding the effectiveness of adoption level advocacy on an adopter’s decision to keep their cat indoors or outdoors. The funding works to help cover the cost of printing educational materials and administering the data collection. Conclusions drawn from the data will be used to inform the future of cat predation programming at Utility Farm.
Cats are one of the largest contributing factors to wild species decline in the United States, including both feral and free-ranging owned cats. Through our research, we hope to make progress in reducing the unnecessary suffering experienced by birds and small mammals at the paws of feline companions. It is also important in our efforts to raise awareness about the dangers to health and safety that cats face when left to range freely outdoors.
Results from our data collection will be made available to the public for the benefit of any group or individual that may find it useful to their own projects.
